CFIC Ships Largest Qdrive Oxygen Liquefier
200 Litre/day on Roll-around Cart.
Date: 31-Mar-2009

CFIC-Qdrive has recently delivered a kilowatt-class acoustic-Stirling cryocooler-liquefier that uses coldfinger geometry, in a mobile oxygen liquefier for Pacific Consolidated Industries of California.  The advanced remote coldfinger configuration was developed with DoE support and was first shown in a 250-watt size at the July 2008 HTS Peer Review meeting. The improved cryocooler is powered by the same-size Qdrive pressure-wave generator (20 kWe model 2s362W) as previously supplied to Praxair for use in the Bixby HTS cable project with Southwire. The new coldfinger format addresses limitations in installation and interface to cryostats, as well as reducing manufacturing cost. CFIC-Qdrive offers multiple models of its oil-free, valveless cryocoolers (sometimes called 'pulse tubes') with capacities of watts to kilowatts for service from 50 to 150K.
